Exactly where I was at BC, trying to make sense of a senseless world... All the political posts on FB & all the people complaining about all the sheep that are asleep... REALLY? So I go to all these different news sites searching for truth so I can be well informed, make informed decisions about who I vote for (as if that makes any difference) & there's no truth to be found just contradictions, different spins, mass confusion & downright lies almost everywhere you go in the world. Well... I'm awake, now what???
Thankfully God started moving in my life to pull me out of all the confusion, lies, craziness of the world that the enemy wants us to be consumed with because as long as we're consumed with all that we're not spending time with God. Oh, HELLO! He eventually revealed to me that all I know is Jesus says, "I am the way, the TRUTH & the life." There's a lot I don't know, there's a lot I don't understand, I think the Bible is a complex book that we'll never understand completely because as humans we're not meant to understand ALL the ways of God. However, the parts of the Bible that I hold onto that give me peace, contentment, joy & every other good feeling I hold inside despite the crazy messed up world we live in are the words of God that have been written on my heart & on my mind to keep me in His peace & joy. I used to constantly search for truth & it left me feeling discontent, confused, worried, stressed, always feeling like I was missing something & needing something more. It's not complicated, PEOPLE make it complicated, Jesus wants us to keep it simple & follow him that's it! You can go on a never ending search for proof through theology, scientific & educational books & never get any farther in your quest for truth than what a child's song can reveal to you... "Jesus loves me, this I know. For the Bible tells me so." We don't need proof, we need child like faith. I think this is what Jesus means in Matthew 18:3 “Assuredly, I say to you, unless you are converted and become as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven." I think sometimes we have to quit questioning our Heavenly parent, do what he says, trust Him, lay down our prideful "I'm strong & I've got this" attitude & be dependent upon him. These are some of the verses I try my absolute best to live my life by... "Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things. The things which you learned and received and heard and saw in me, these do, and the God of peace will be with you." Philippians 4:6-9 The Word of God does no good if we're not obedient to it. Worrying, stressing out, complaining & being anxious are all signs that indicate we're not TRUSTING God & those feelings are completely opposite of the peace & joy He wants to keep us in. So, the way I take it is whenever we're worried, anxious, searching for answers & not praying, we're directly disobeying God which is the quickest way to separate ourselves from Him. We were made by Him to stay in His presence & He's ALWAYS right there waiting for us to get our heads out of our butts & come back to Him. Just a walk in my shoes, I realize it may not be for everyone & I'm in no way shape or form trying to shove it down anyone's throat... Peace & Love in Christ my friends!
